KPK Urges Brother-in-law of Regent of Cianjur to Surrender Himself
ChannelRakyat. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) requested that Tubagus Cepy Sethiady (TCS) who is the brother-in-law of Cianjur Regent Irvan Rivano Muchtar, to immediately surrender. Cepy was one of the parties who was named a suspect by the KPK together with the Regent of Cianjur Irvan.
"To TCS, we urge to come to the KPK and surrender as soon as possible. We will appreciate the cooperative legal attitude," KPK Deputy Chairman Basaria Panjaitan told a press conference at the Jakarta KPK Building on Wednesday night.
In this case, Cepy allegedly acted as an intermediary for transactions from the principal to the regent. According to Basaria, the school principals believed that Cepy was a trusted regent.
Besides Irvan and Cepy, the KPK also named two other people as suspects. Each was the Head of the Cianjur District Education Office Cecep Sobandi and the Head of the Rosidin Education Office Middle School.
It was alleged that the Cianjur Regent along with a number of parties had requested, received or deducted payments related to the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of Cianjur Education in 2018 amounting to around 14.5% of the total 46.8 billion;
As a result of his actions, Irvan, Cecep, Rosidin and Tubagus are suspected of violating Article 12 letter f or Article 12 letter e or Article 12 B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
