JCI Parking in the Red Zone, Effects of Lack of Trade

PorosNasional. The Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) was closed in the red zone in session I this afternoon. JCI fell 3.78 points (0.06%) to 6,173.93. While the exchange rate of the United States (US) against the rupiah this afternoon was at Rp. 14,539.

In the pre opening trade, the JCI rose 0.847 points (0.01%) to 6,178,567. The LQ45 index also increased 0.211 points (0.02%) to 987,429.

Opening the trade on Friday (12/14/2018), the JCI Composite Index remained stagnant, tending to strengthen 0.01 points (0.83%) to 6,178,357. The L45 index fell 0.377 points (0.04%) to 986.841.

At 09.05 JATS, the JCI still turned down 5,056 points (0.08%) to 6,172,664. LQ45 index of 0.453 (0.05%) 986,765.

Closing session I this afternoon, the JCI fell 3.78 (0.06%) to the level of 6,173.93. While the LQ45 index actually gained 0.13 points (0.01%) to the level of 987,348.

Meanwhile, the main index of US stock exchanges closed mixed with the majority in negative territory on Thursday (12/13). The S & P index edged down 0.02%, the Nasdaq fell 0.39%.

While the Dow Jones managed to strengthen 0.29%. The decline in the majority of the index occurred due to the re-emergence of concerns of market players to anticipate uncertainty about the US and global economic prospects.

In addition, there are issues regarding the increase in the Fed's interest rates as well as the reversing US Treasury yield curve on short-term yields that are higher than the long-term, indicating a recession that may come soon.

While the Asian stock market also has a negative majority this afternoon. Following are the movements:

    The Hang Seng Index fell 1.37% to 26,159.81
    The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.57% to 2,619.07
    The Straits Times Index weakened 1.22% to 3,073.17
    The Nikkei 225 index decreased 1.79% to 21,425.05

Shares that were among the top gainers, Gudang Garam (GGRM) rose Rp 1,450 to Rp 83,900, Indofood CBP (ICBP) rose Rp 375 to Rp 10,200, Pudjiadi & Sons (PNSE) rose Rp 195 to Rp 1,130 and Indofood succeeded Makmur (INDF) rose Rp 175 to Rp 7,075.

While stocks that are among the top losers include, Indo Tambangraya (ITMG) dropped Rp 325 to Rp 20,875, Semen Indonesia (SMGR) dropped Rp 300 to Rp 11,300, Tjiwi Paper Factory (TKIM) dropped Rp 225 to Rp 11,300 and Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper (INKP) dropped Rp 200 to Rp 12,000.
